A Day Nobody will Forget

On this day, September 11, 2001, known universally as 9/11, two American airliners were flown into The World Trade Center towers by Islamic fundamentalist hijackers. Similar attacks would follow in Washington and Pennsylvania.

Some 3,000 men, women and children died in what will be remembered as the worst terrorist atrocity in human history. We will all live with the terrifying images etched on our minds.

That day, there were four separate planes flown into targets in New York, Washington and Pennsylvania. The Federal Government later identified 19 carefully trained, highly educated hijackers as having been involved. They also name Osama Bin Laden, leader of the al-Qaeda terrorist network as being behind the attack.
