When I began researching this topic I, unfortunately, found a page that decried Colloidal Silver quite seriously. Claiming it has no recognised benefits, it has serious long-term side-effects and is not a recognised treatment by any conventional medical practitioner.

  • Silver has no known function in the human body
  • Silver is not an essential mineral supplement or a cure-all, and should not be promoted as such.
  • Claims that there can be a “deficiency” of silver in the body and that such deficiency can lead to disease are unfounded.
  • Claims made about the effectiveness of colloidal silver products for numerous diseases are unsupported scientifically.
  • Colloidal silver products can have serious side-effects.

Fortunately there are more positive views about Colloidal Silver, none more positive, perhaps, than Nancy Delise’s story, the article about which appears to have been taken offline. She believes that after two years on Colloidal Silver, she has lost all of her MS symptoms and attributes this wholly to Colloidal Silver.

Colloidal Silver

Health Benefits of Colloidal Silver

The proponents of Colloidal Silver believe it to be a powerful, natural antibiotic and preventative against infections. It was in common use up until 1938, and many may remember their grandparents placing a silver dollar in milk to prolong it’s freshness.

The highest grade Colloidal Silver is produced by the electro-colloidal / non-chemical method where the silver particles and water have been colloided, i.e., dispersed within and bound to each other by an electric current. The super-fine silver particles are suspended indefinitely in demineralised water.

Colloidal Silver may be taken orally or as a nasal spray. It may also be applied to cuts, grazes and open sores as an antiseptic.

I must confess to not having tried this possible multiple sclerosis treatment myself. I am usually game to volunteer myself, as guinea pig, for any new treatment.

I can appreciate that it may be beneficial but, like so many other multiple sclerosis treatments, there will be drawbacks. It is a question of balancing the benefits with the drawbacks and with your personal opinion.

Every one of us is unique. We will all have our own set of multiple sclerosis symptoms. And our own set of preferred solutions.

Alternative Treatments

One of the reasons I have not, personally, tried colloidal silver is that my focus is on diet. So often, talk of multiple sclerosis is talk of symptoms and the treatment thereof.

I, having read thoroughly, the Wahls Protocol. Find that I now completely agree with the findings of Dr Terry Wahls. That I should not be treating my symptoms; I should be treating the underlying cause.

And, that underlying cause is my dysfunctional mitochondria. I could devote many posts, and may well do, to explaining how to care for your mitochondria.

In the meantime, I would urge you, as strongly as is possible without being too rude, to look closely at your diet. Everything you eat can boost your health, or set you back.

At the present time feeding my mitochondria is my main health focus. Perhaps, it should also be yours.

The only other reference that springs to mind is to be found on TV antique programmes where you often see featured: silver nurse’s belt buckles. These, aside from their aesthetic beauty, are/were made of silver because of the anti bacterial properties of silver.

Nancy Delise’s journal is found on the internet because she originally sent it to me and I emailed it to many other people all over the world. I would be happy to share my extensive experience with MS & Colloidal Silver to anyone interested. Nancy was a friend of mine and we talked several times per year before her death.

Thank you ever so much for the response. Nancy was famous in the MS world and I’m sure your experience and expertise would be very valuable. I assume, and it’s always dangerous to assume, that you don’t have MS yourself and your experience with colloidal silver is biological.

I wish you success with the colloidal silver. You say you were told you had MS! Is there some doubt?

I was diagnosed with Relapsing Remitting Multiple Sclerosis in 2001. I am 52 years old and I feel that my symptoms are becoming worse. I’ve just read that colloidal silver may be beneficial for me. Is there anywhere or anybody who can help me with exploring this as I hate this disease and wish to do something to rid myself of it. Thank you.

I am sorry to hear of your distress. I am 57 years old and my MS has been becoming noticeably worse over the last year or two. I cannot advise on colloidal silver as I am not qualified and it would be irresponsible of me to try.
I am waiting for an appointment with my neurologist to see if there is anything new they can offer.

I’ve never know colloidal silver to hurt anyone as long as it’s good quality and you follow the directions on the bottle. I’ve been taking it off and on for about a year now and don’t notice anything except that I haven’t been sick of anything since I started it. If I was in your situation, I would definitely try it but that’s just me. I’ve never know any side affects at all with anyone that I know who have used it. I purchased mine from Nature’s Sunshine out of Utah. I’m not prescribing, I’m just saying what I would do.

Thank you for the link, yes Nancy seems to be convinced. I have come across the name Nancy Delise before I just can’t remember where.
