Animal World Wonders
The Wonderful World of Wildlife

Giant Millipede
Animal Web Pages tend not to perform well in Search Engine results, Probably because there are so many of them and the competition is, like many of the animals, incredibly fierce.
However, the world of wildlife is endlessly fascinating and we are drawn back to it time after time.
Penguins in the Antarctic, Polar Bears in the Arctic, Elephants in India and Africa, the diversity knows no bounds and for all the global zoological knowledge that has been accrued we are still discovering new species in the jungles and the oceans.
From the tiniest insect to the huge rhinocerous, the fleet-footed cheetah to the pedestrian turtle and from the bland starling to the beautiful bird of paradise, nature has it all.
Part of the fascination is, of course, for species that we no longer have. The woolly mammoth that perished after the last Ice Age, the weird and wonderful dodo from Mauritius and of course the dinosaurs which had been incredibly successful for millions of years before the fatal asteroid impact that destroyed much of life on the planet.

Incredible Skipper Frog
Incredible trivia: did you know? That the animal that, collectively, weighs more than any other on the planet is krill! The tiny ocean-living, algae-eating krill is so hugely numerous and the oceans so vast that they outweigh, collectively, any other animal on Earth.
Humans or Homo sapiens have been around for a relatively short time. Less than 200,000 years, but, in that time, have managed to colonise, prolifically, nearly every corner of the planet. Often to the detriment of other species.
