Free Traffic Boost

Internet Explorer is not the only Kid on the Block

freetrafficboost.com

FreeTrafficBoost.com is a viral marketing program claiming to give you thousands, if not millions of extra visitors to your web site as well as pay you commission from new members on a pyramid type structure.

It is FREE to join or you can become a paid member to earn higher commission. It is reported to be hugely successful and I was attracted by the possibilities. But, being a cynical sort, I thought I should think on it before jumping in. Firstly was it really likely to pay thousands of dollars and if it did produce millions of visitors would my hosting account cope with it?

So, canny as the Scot I am, I thought I would email their support group and ask a few questions. The email came back undelivered reporting that the mail box was full. This immediately suggested to me that while the email account exists, there is obviously nobody there checking the email or responding to support queries. Not the sort of thing that is likely to inspire confidence.

However, curiosity has got the better of me so I signed up as a FREE member working on the basis that it can’t do any harm. It may not do any good but I shall continue to report back here.

My first impression was not good. It took me through the sign up as far as the screen that asked you to upgrade to a PAID member. Although it stated you could continue as a FREE member there was no such option to do so.

I have since managed to get logged in and so all seems to be above board. I still haven’t had any visitors which is probably because I haven’t referred any new members.

I cannot, at this stage, make any recommendation about this service but if YOU would like to try it and join in the experiment then here is my referral link:

Sign Up for Free Traffic

Who knows if a few of you join in and I start getting visitors then I will certainly report back here so that you can learn from my experience!

30 Oct 2004 Well, well, well! Somebody has signed up and my web site received a visit from them. So up to a point, this does work. I assume it now needs this person to refer more new people to the service then the visitor numbers will begin to escalate.

To be honest, I can see this producing lots of traffic but, I cannot see how they claim it to be targeted traffic. However I will be delighted to be proved wrong. Watch this space.

UPDATE (2 Aug 2006)

It is now nearly two years since I first published this page. In that time I have noticed one (YES ONE) visitor that came from this scheme. I think that in anybody’s book this qualifies as a complete failure.

Not that I have been at all proactive with it, I just signed up and sat back waiting for the visitors to come pouring in. Hah! There’s no such thing as a free lunch – Ain’t that the Truth!

Give FREE TRAFFIC BOOST a very WIDE berth. I take solace in knowing that if traffic had materialised it would not have been targeted traffic and, as such, would have been relatively worthless.
